Pine & Peach was built from curiosity, risk, and a willingness to start something completely unfamiliar from the ground up.
After moving back home to India from Canada, I knew I wanted to build something connected to aquaculture and farming. My father had previously owned highly successful fish farms before health challenges forced him to step away from the industry, so I had always felt connected to that world in some way. One day, my mother suggested pearl farming — and the idea stayed with me.
What drew me in was how unique and untapped the industry felt, especially in India. Pearl farming seemed accessible enough to start small, yet powerful enough to grow into something meaningful. So I started my own pearl farm in my backyard, learning everything through firsthand experience, trial and error, research, and daily observation.
As I began documenting the journey online through my instagram page @benipalpearlfarm, more and more people became curious about pearl farming and started asking questions. That is what led to the creation of Pine & Peach.
I quickly realized that most information available online was either too generic, overly technical, or not specific to the realities of pearl farming in India. This platform was created to change that — by sharing practical, transparent, and beginner-friendly knowledge from someone actively doing the work on the ground level.
The journey has not always been easy. When you are responsible for thousands of living organisms, mistakes and losses become part of the process. There are challenges you cannot control — weather changes, power outages, leaking pipes, water quality shifts — and there are moments where you question whether you can keep going. But pearl farming teaches adaptability, patience, and resilience in ways few industries can.
Today, Pine & Peach is growing into more than just an educational platform. The vision is to create a complete pearl farming ecosystem — including guides, journals, educational resources, freshwater pearl harvests, merchandise, and eventually a one-stop destination for everything related to pearls and pearl farming.
Above all, this brand is built on honesty, transparency, and community. The support, curiosity, and encouragement from people following this journey has meant everything, and my goal is to continue creating resources that leave people feeling inspired, empowered, and excited to learn more.
